Summer Memories

Keeping Her Cool is having a blog hop with a great twist: favorite summer memories.

And it fits right in with what I've been thinking about lately, which is that this month marks five years since I met my husband.  Now, that doesn't sound like much, but we've really been through a lot (not even counting the twins, if that says anything), and I can honestly say he's the best thing to ever come my way.  Ever. I'm incredibly lucky and incredibly in love.

Would you like a picture montage? I think you would.

January 2007: This is the first picture ever taken of us...that I have, at least. It's a New Year's Eve party in Connecticut. It's a bad picture, but worth mentioning because it's a first.

In March of that year, we went on what was to be our only vacation ever. He took me to Portugal for more than a week. It was amazing. We consider it our honeymoon before marriage.

Then I moved to San Diego for a job, and he would visit me every month at least. Moving 3,000 miles away will either make you or break you. I think to both of our surprises, it made us. I moved back.

Christmas 2007. I had moved back to CT about ten days before this picture was taken. I was already pregnant. (But I didn't know!! Hence the alcohol and cigarette.) I was obviously ridiculously happy.

We had not one, but two babies on August 10, 2008. They made excellent neckwarmers.

Almost three years after that, we're a damn happy couple.

And a damn happy family, too. Even those two guys walking by think so!

So, I cheated. This isn't a summer memory. Oops.
